Working Principle
The cam rotor pump relies on two synchronously rotating counter-rotating rotors to generate suction (vacuum) at the inlet during the rotation process, thereby sucking in the garlic butter to be transported.
Two rotors rotating towards each other are installed on parallel synchronous gear shafts, and small cavities are continuously formed between them and the pump casing. The garlic butter filled in the cavities is continuously pushed from the inlet end to the outlet end by the rotating rotors.
When the rotors rotate, the working cavity at the same suction port of the pump continuously expands, and the suction process takes place. As the rotors continue to rotate, a sealed cavity is formed, and the suction process ends.
As the rotors continue to rotate, the sealed cavity communicates with the pump outlet, and the medium in the sealed cavity is discharged from the outlet. At the same time, the other side of the rotors is in the process of volume expansion, and the suction process occurs. In this way, the processes of suction and discharge are alternately completed.
Structural Composition
Bearings and Synchronous Gears: The synchronous gears are installed in a separate and sealed gearbox to ensure the accuracy of transmission and have a long service life.
Isolation Chamber: There is a liquid-filled isolation chamber between the gearbox and the pump cavity, which isolates the synchronous gears from the flow-through pump cavity. On the one hand, it protects the synchronous gears from being damaged by the fluid. On the other hand, it prevents the gearbox oil from entering the transmitted medium. The chamber is filled with lubricating liquid, which can play a lubricating role and also monitor whether the mechanical seal is intact.
Integrally Cast Pump Casing: The flow-through part of the pump casing is integrally cast with high precision, and materials such as gray cast iron, malleable cast iron, or stainless steel can be selected. The easily detachable pump cover is fixed by only four screws, and each component in the pump cavity can be disassembled and replaced by opening the pump cover.
Shaft Seal: A maintenance-free mechanical seal is adopted, and the selection of its material depends on the characteristics of the medium. The elastic O-ring is also selected according to the medium. The lubricating liquid in the central cavity ensures the lubrication of the mechanical seal. Even when the pump is running dry or performing vacuum suction, the lubrication remains good. The central cavity can also prevent the medium from precipitating and crystallizing after contacting the air.
Rotors: There are various rotors available for selection. In addition to various metal materials, various elastic rubbers, plastics, and other special materials are also provided. For pumps that have been put into use, new rotors can also be replaced.
Application Scenarios
Food Processing Industry: During the production process of garlic butter, the mixed garlic butter can be transported from the storage tank to each workstation on the production line, or transported to the packaging equipment for packaging.
Catering Industry: In the kitchens of large restaurants and hotels, garlic butter can be distributed to different cooking areas, making it convenient for chefs to use and improving cooking efficiency.
Maintenance and Upkeep
Check Component Connections: Check whether there are any loose connections in the cam rotor pump, pipelines, and joints.
Check Oil Level and Change Oil: Observe that the oil level should be at the center line of the oil gauge. The lubricating oil should be replaced or replenished in a timely manner. Within one month of operation, the lubricating oil should be replaced after 100 hours of operation, and then it should be replaced every 500 hours.
Confirm the Motor Rotation Direction: Jog the motor to check whether the motor rotation direction is correct.
Control Operating Parameters: Try to control the flow rate and head within the range indicated on the nameplate to ensure operation at a relatively efficient point. During the operation process, the bearing temperature should not exceed 35°C higher than the ambient temperature, and the temperature should not exceed 80°C.
Handle Abnormal Sounds: If any abnormal sounds are found, stop the pump immediately and check the cause.
Adjust the Packing Gland: Regularly adjust the packing gland to ensure normal dripping in the packing chamber.
Anti-freezing in Winter: When using the pump in winter, after stopping the pump, drain the water in the pump body to prevent it from freezing and cracking.
Maintenance for Long-term Out-of-use: For long-term out-of-use, the pump needs to be completely disassembled, dried off the moisture, apply grease to the rotating parts and joints, assemble it, and store it properly.
